Is there a fee to use CliniCall?
No, CliniCall is a free service that connects you with care providers in your community. If you’re a resident of BC and are enrolled in Medical Services Plan (MSP) coverage, most of the care you access through providers on CliniCall will be covered. Please note that not all medical services are covered under MSP. I’m not a BC resident, can I still use CliniCall?
Yes, if you are not a resident of BC and not enrolled in MSP, you may still be able to book an appointment through CliniCall, but the consultation and care provided will not be covered by MSP.
Can I get a referral to a specialist?
Yes, but if you have a Family Physician, we encourage you to ask for a specialist referral through them. If you don’t have a Family Physician and the doctor for your online consultation determines that a specialist referral is necessary, they will set up the referral directly.
Can I get a referral for lab work?
Yes, if the doctor or nurse practitioner determines that lab work is necessary, they’ll requisition the appropriate tests.
Do I see the same doctor every time?
Yes, you can choose your care provider based on availability. Once you have your appointment, all follow-up for your specific medical concerns can be done through the same doctor or nurse practitioner if they are available. Any new medical concerns? Search for the same doctor (if they’re available) or choose a new doctor
Can I get a doctor’s note?
Yes, if appropriate, but bear in mind, this is a paid service. MSP doesn’t cover payment for doctors’ note

When shouldn’t I use CliniCall?

Do I get to choose my own doctor?
Yes, if your own doctor or nurse practitioner participates in CliniCall, you can select them from the list of available providers. If you are not attached to a primary care provider, please visit the Health Connect Registry Patient Attachment Waitlist to be matched with one
Are your doctors certified?
Yes, all the care providers you access through CliniCall are qualified to practice in Canada and are licensed either with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC or the BC College of Nurses and Midwives. For more information or to look up any particular doctor or nurse practitioner, consult the relevant college’s website.
Can I book an appointment for my child?
Yes, a parent or guardian can book an appointment for their child.
